With her husband's new film creating Oscar buzz from the start, Livia Giuggioli knew she'd have a lot of premieres and award ceremonies to go to.

So the Italian-born producer decided to set herself a special fashion challenge.

Colin Firth's gorgeous other half vowed only to wear ethical, environmentally-sustainable creations on the red carpet – and the results were dazzling.

It's a theme she'll stick to at the Academy Awards, when she'll wear a recycled design, made by British designer Gary Harvey.

"Without doing the big reveal, I can tell you that Gary's design is made from 11 different dresses," she told fashion magazine Vogue. "He has scoured south-east London for the right pieces."
