Leonardo DiCaprio loses Best Actor Oscar for FOURTH time
The 39-year-old went home empty –handed after the 86th Annual Academy Awards despite a series of online campaigns wishing for him to take away a gold statuette. Leo has hoped to claim the prize for motion pictures What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator and Blood Diamond, each time shocking fans of his films with the various losses.
Leonardo DiCaprio failed to win Best Actor for the fourth time
He was also up against American Hustle’s Christian Bale, 12 Years a Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor and Nebraska’s Bruce Dern. His flick was also up for Best Picture, Directing and Writing – Adapted Screenplay but failed to collect anything from the Academy.
However Leo was lucky enough to get a hug from Matthew who walked across the aisle to embrace him before taking to the stage and thanking his family for their support. Matthew attended the ceremony with is mother and wife Camila Alves, so it seems he and Leo share the similar values.
Leo – who has a penchant for dating models – walked the red carpet with his mother Irmelin Indenbirken instead of bringing a lady friend and in the past has been accompanied by then-partner supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
He recently shared that when it comes to finding a girlfriend, it seems looks aren't everything.
Speaking to Gayle King during a CBS This Morning interview last month, the Oscar-nominee said he looks for "humility, a sense of humour and not a lot of drama" in a potential love interest. Gayle, perhaps unaware of his ongoing relationship with model Toni Garrn, then asked Leo if he needed her help fixing up with anyone. "I'm alright. I'm good right now," he replied with a smile.

Leo also revealed that he's coming round to the idea of settling down permanently. "The truth is, its gonna happen when it's gonna happen," he said on the subject of marriage. "I'm just gonna let it happen naturally. I really am.
"That's the way to do it, I feel. And when it's right, it's gonna be right."
Leo is normally fiercely private when it comes to his personal life. Now thought to be dating 21-year-old Toni, he has been linked to Nina Agdal, Bar Refaeli, Erin Heatherton and Gisele Bundchen in the past.
Speaking about his first Academy Award nomination from 1994’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, he said: "All I remember is being paralyzed with fear that I'd actually have to get up on that stage because somebody told me that a billion people watch that show.
"And that's the only thing I really remember. I was in a shambles about that. I actually didn't want to win because of that reason," the star remembered about being aged 19.
