Margot Robbie shows off newly-dyed brunette locks on red carpet

Margot Robbie gave fans a surprise when she arrived at the Oscars with newly-dyed brunette locks.

The Wolf Of Wall Street star showed off her new look earlier in the day on Twitter, when she posted a photograph of herself getting ready. "Never thought I'd say this.. I'm getting ready for the #oscars!!!!!" she captioned the snap of herself being pampered and preened.

The 23-year-old actress teamed her new 'do with a stunning black YSL dress that featured an embellished top and an oversized bow on the back.

Margot wasn't the only star to sport a new hair colour on the red carpet.

Julia Roberts re-immersed herself into Hollywood after the tragic passing of her half-sister, and marked her return by gracing the 86th Academy Awards as a blonde.

The 46-year-old was all-smiles as she walked outside the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland Center in a black floor-length Givenchy gown with peplum cut and lace detail in her plunging neckline.

The usually-brunette screen star transformed her look with a light dye job but wrapped her famous locks in messy up-do.

Emphasising her slim figure, Julia posed with her hands on her hips much of the time and accessorised with drop earrings and a chunky bracelet.

Also sporting black was Charlize Theron in a strapless Dior creation. She accessorised with $15million worth of diamonds from Harry Winston.

Anne Hathaway did black with a twist, rocking a Gucci gown with a mirrored bodice, while Emma Watson was as stylish as ever in black Vera Wang.
