Lupita Nyong'o admits 'I haven't even slept yet' following Oscars win

Lupita Nyong'o is still coming to terms with her Best Supporting actress win at the Oscars. The 31-year-old scooped one of the night's top prizes for 12 Years A Slave - and admitted that amid all the excitement she hadn't had the chance to sleep during an interview on Monday morning.

"(The win) hasn't set in. I haven't even slept yet," she excitedly told the audience during an appearance on Live with Kelly & Michael.

"It is overwhelming, but at the same time, this is the thing I dreamed for, it's the thing that I availed myself for. I'm just trying to allow myself to absorb it all."

Happily her dream-come-true is a reality. "Twelve midnight came and this," Lupita said, holding on to her Oscar, "did not disappear."

The star told chat show shost Kelly and Michael she hadn't slept since receiving her Oscar

She added with a laugh, "The first half of the night I was being very, very selfish. I wouldn't let anyone even take a picture with it. But then I lightened up."

The down-to-earth actress also gave a belated shout-out to her management team — who she forgot to include as she accepted her Academy Award.

The star couldn't stop smiling as she gave her acceptance speech

"I forgot to thank my manager. They got me this in the try first place," she said. "My agent at Innovative (Artists), thank you so, so much. My publicist, Fox Searchlight, New Regency, Plan B.

Of her acceptance speech, which was delivered with poise and eloquence, Lupita said she didn't "want to spend too much time" monopolising the stage.

Lupita looked stylish as she walked through LAX

"Everything I wrote was from the heart," she said.

After a round of interviews on Monday, Lupita was seen jetting out of LA as she headed home to Brooklyn, New York. Dressed in a light grey tailored jacket over a white shirt, skinny black jeans and black boots, the Mexico-born star flashed a big smile as she made her way through the airport.
